CASCADIA MUSIC COLLECTIVE

AKIMI is a founding member organization of the Pacific Northwest regional music initiative known as the Cascadia Music Collective, with partners in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Future cooperation with Canada and other Northwest public and non-profit partners is on the horizon.

Four state-level peer organizations have come together to collaborate, develop shared resources, and work on improving working conditions and interstate travel opportunities for our artists. Together we can better understand and advocate for the regional music economy we refer to as “Cascadia.”

A collective of music sector stakeholders from all four states will gather in Seattle after the April Music Policy Forum convening to plan the Collective’s structrue and core activities at the 2025 Cascadia Music Summit.

This initiative was jointly announced at the Music Policy Forum’s first Cascadia Music Summit in Boise, ID in December 2023:

The report from that conference includes more details about the discussions at the Music Policy Forum and the development of the Cascadia Music Corridor initiative.

Founding Partners:

Cascadia’s work focuses on music industry knowledge sharing, musical “trade routes”, and regional economic analysis via standardized shared data. We look forward to more cooperation between states and provinces for the benefit of music scenes all across the Pacific Northwest region.
