The Alaska Music Scene

Music makes our communities vibrant here in the north. AKIMI is dedicated to elevating the entire Alaska music scene, from punk bands to piano teachers, from audio engineers to DJ’s.

AKIMI is surveying the size and scope of Alaskan music, including artists, venues, and businesses, to better advocate for the whole sector. We host Alaska music playlists, artist showcases, and directories, and we provide resources like grant writing support, networking opportunities, and facilitating industry information sharing.

Community involvement

You don't have to be a musician to get involved with AKIMI. We want to connect with venues, festivals, arts and cultural organizations, media, educators, policymakers, and businesses working in the music sector.

We currently partner with the Alaska State Council on the Arts as a liaison to the independent music sector.

We are always looking for partners, collaborators, and sponsors. Get in touch!
